some pictures from london

These are just some of my favourite pictures I’ve taken from the past few times I’ve been into the city. This blog site started out as an agoraphobic blog, documenting my sudden-onset illness of crippling anxiety which began when I was seventeen. Three years later, I’m thinking ‘What agoraphobia?’ Bam, bam, bam.

Brett Anderson deserves your love too

So aside from writing some of the greatest songs of the ’90s with his band Suede, for some reason Brett Anderson is fairly disregarded when it comes to remembering the ‘pretty boys of Britpop’ (hello Damon Albarn), but I’m here to rectify this and set the record straight.

Justine Frischmann (Elastica) dumped Brett for Damon Albarn (Blur) in the early ’90s before Suede hit the big time. This fueled one of the most famous feuds in the Britpop genre (the biggest one being, of course, the whole Oasis vs. Blur thing) but the love triangle was still huge news.

Whilst there’s no doubt that Damon Albarn is undeniably attractive (those eyes!) – I can’t help but feel that Brett is overshadowed and underrated due to Damon and Blur. Suede are a great, fantastic band – one of my absolute favourites – so here… I’ve attached links to five of my favourite Suede songs. Check them out and let me know what you think: Trash, The Beautiful Ones, Everything Will Flow, Saturday Night, and Metal Mickey.

Anyway… Without further ado, grace your eyes upon the ethereal creature that is Brett Anderson…

Have I made my point yet? Do you need any more convincing?

Happy Thursday!

When not in London, I live in the countryside; on a rural estate with lots of land and animals. I took these pictures on my iPhone just this morning of our peacocks, Oswald and Oscar, and thought I’d share:

I used to really loathe living in the countryside, but the older I get, the more I appreciate the beauty in rural living. Refreshing and scenic. Have a lovely day!
